Intel Release Core i7 980X Extreme Edition with 6 Core

Details about the chip core Intel processor with a hex Gulftown, has been published on the web. Intel Gulftown now have the same brand as Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 980X. Chip manufacturing 32nm processors will also have the same speed as Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition. However, unfortunately these Gulftown new chip will be present at the first and second quarter of 2010.

Gulftown Intel chips will have 6 cores, capable of handling 12 thread processing with Hyper-Threading technology. Hardware Gulftown Intel processor chip has a 3.33GHz clock speed of 12MB plus features L3 cache to increase the L2 cache to 256KB per core and L1 cache 64KB. In addition, the memory controller is equipped with a triple-channel DDR3 and Socket LGA 1366 for the Intel platform X58 Express chipset. Gulftown also supported Intel Turbo Boost feature and QuickPath Interconnect from Intel.

According to Online PC, Intel chips have Gulftown the 2.8GHz speed, and CPU will show 50 percent performance improvement when video encoding and 3D models. As for its rival, AMD also has a processor with Thuban for 6-core 45nm desktop platform. Thuban CPU has 6MB cache L3 and L2 cache 3MB. AMD also released berecana in 2010.
