Kaspersky Escaped from 'Real World' AV Test Lab

Internet Security 2010 has shown a high level of protection in tests by leading laboratories in Germany, AV-Test, as part of their Real World experiment. Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 was tested with the daily conditions using the latest malware that according to the methodology developed specifically by AV-Test for the purpose of this test.

This test includes 12 Internet security solutions from a variety of popular different providers. Each solution tested against about 10 malware 'zero-day' new every 24 hours, (malware that had just appeared on the internet), more than 60 days test period. Complete device from malicious software used in this test sample consisted of 600 active, including the exploits and malware that is distributed via email.

Solutions are allowed to apply a complete range of protection technologies, including URL filtering and applications that are blacklisted, behavioral analysis, signature-based detection. Keep in mind that traditionally, when analyzing the performance of an antivirus solution, only one type of protection technologies used, such as signature-based scanning (reactive protection) or proactive protection module.

The effectiveness of protection offered is measured by two categories, namely 'Malware Detection' and 'Malware Blocking'. The criteria used include malware detection rates, the extent of the destructive activity of the malware can be blocked and the number of recorded false positive in the face of the collection malicious programs.

Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 received top ratings in tests of the Real World, ranked second in the category 'Malware Detection' (97.5 percent) and ranked third in the category 'Malware Blocking' (89.8 percent) and recorded very few false positive.

According to him, Kaspersky believes in the near future testing in accordance with the antivirus solution that analyzes the test, the conditions of daily life, the effectiveness of the entire integrated circuit technology, there is every product that shape user behavior.

Today, with tens of thousands of new malicious programs that appear on the Internet every day, only such tests are capable of showing the real level of protection.
