Samsung Slim External DVD Ready marketed

Samsung has released a thin external DVD specifically designed to be paired with a laptop and a netbook. In addition to thin and lightweight, this tool brings claimed high performance. As reported by the techpowerup, Monday (1/11/2010), a new device is Samsung S084D SE-optical disk drive (ODD). This tool has an ultra-light weight with power comes from the USB, which makes it easy to carry.

"Because the netbook is designed for ultra mobility, they are not equipped with optical disk drive device," said John Suh, Director of CSO sales and marketing, Samsung Semiconductor, as quoted from techpowerup. "But with ODD-S084D SE which is very portable and ultra light, users can take anywhere separately," he added.

With a metallic color design that is neat, SE-S084D never won an iF design award entitled Product Design Awards held in Germany. This product is because 20% smaller than existing conventional DVDs. Also weighing 25% lighter than the previous Samsung DVD.

SE-S084D will be run on all operating systems like Windows 7, Mac OS and linux. This external DVD features the Buffer Under Run technology, which functions to prevent errors when used in multi-tasking. This tool has a variant: 4X CD-ROM, 24X CD-RW, 8X DVD ± R recording, 5X DVD-RAM recording, 8X DVD + R Dual Layer recording, 6X DVD-R Dual Layer recording, 8X DVD + RW recording and 6X DVD-RW recording.
